Delivery Optimization is a feature intended to speed up Windows Update by allowing your system to send and receive update data from other computers, either on the internet or your local network. While useful for conserving bandwidth, this feature causes Windows to store and redistribute update packages, creating surplus write operations on the SSD that provide no real benefit to most single-PC users.
