Perfect Day Studio, the developer behind the critically acclaimed game Insomnia: Theater in the Head, has announced the official English language version of their interactive fiction game, A Perfect Day. The demo is now available for players worldwide, with the full release coming soon.

In A Perfect Day, players take on the role of a student whose life is about to change forever. Set on December 31st, 1999, the story begins with a seemingly ordinary day that quickly takes an unpredictable turn. The game is inspired by the works of renowned creators like Jorge Luis Borges, Francois Truffaut, Quentin Tarantino, and Jia Zhangke. A Perfect Day pays tribute to the visual novel genre with its deep narrative system and focus on exploration.

The gameplay revolves around conversations, observing the environment, and connecting the dots to uncover the main events of the story. A Perfect Day features a unique time-loop mechanic, which requires players to pay attention to details to break free from the cycle. Along the way, players will also encounter various mini-games reminiscent of the Gamicom console popular among teenagers.

The English version of A Perfect Day allows players to experience China at the end of the 20th century and learn more about Chinese culture. Key features of the game include a story-rich experience with multiple main stories and side stories, complex characters with unique backgrounds, a vivid representation of 1990s China, and a variety of engaging mini-games.

The A Perfect Day demo, featuring the game’s first day, is now available in English on Steam.
