Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games have made an exciting announcement at The PlayStation Showcase event. They unveiled a highly anticipated gameplay trailer for Alan Wake 2, the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning psychological thriller. Fans can mark their calendars for October 17th, the official release date of Alan Wake 2. The game will be available digitally for PC on the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The newly revealed gameplay trailer introduces players to Saga Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent portrayed by Melanie Liburd, known for her roles in “This is Us,” “Bad Boys 4,” and “Game of Thrones.” Saga Anderson arrives in the small town community of Bright Falls, located in the Pacific Northwest, to investigate a series of murders. As she delves deeper into the case, Anderson stumbles upon pages of a horror story that strangely begin to manifest in reality. She questions the connection between these events and the disappearance of writer Alan Wake, whose dark story eerily mirrors her own.

Sam Lake, the Creative Director and Lead Writer of Alan Wake 2, describes the game as an intense and layered mystery that takes players on two disturbing journeys. These journeys run in parallel and intersect in strange and unexpected ways. As a newcomer to Alan Wake’s world, FBI Agent Saga Anderson offers players a unique perspective into this survival horror experience.

In Alan Wake 2, players will find themselves immersed in a psychological horror story from the perspective of two playable characters. Saga Anderson risks her life to solve a deadly mystery in the Pacific Northwest, while Alan Wake attempts to rewrite his reality to escape the nightmarish depths of the Dark Place, a distorted version of New York City.

Thanks to the power of current consoles and PC hardware, Alan Wake 2 takes full advantage of Remedy Entertainment’s proprietary Northlight engine. Players will face powerful supernatural enemies in desperate situations filled with intense suspense and unexpected twists. The paths of Anderson and Wake are intertwined, with each character embarking on their own harrowing journey in separate realities, connected at a deeper level that neither of them fully comprehends.

Fans can find additional details and insights from the team at Remedy Entertainment on the official site. This much-anticipated sequel follows the success of the original Alan Wake, which received critical acclaim and won several Game of the Year awards. The original game followed Alan Wake as he searched desperately for his missing wife. As he discovered pages of a horror story that he had apparently written, the lines between fiction and reality blurred, forcing Alan Wake to question his sanity as the story unfolded before his eyes. For those who may have missed the original, a modern remaster called Alan Wake Remastered is now available on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One consoles.

Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, Microsoft Windows
