Overwolf and Playwire have teamed up to bring the 2021 Alienware Games to gamers in the United States starting August 27th and running until October 7th, 2021.

The 2021 Alienware Games will build off of the success of last year’s challenges which had over 2 million game sessions and $150,000 awarded in prizes.

Starting August 27th and running for 6 weeks until October 7th, 2021 participants will have the opportunity to rise in rank on the challenge’s leaderboard by scoring points in League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant, and Fortnite. During each week, the top-ranked players for each game will win an Alienware x15 gaming laptop and proceed to the Semi-Finals. Additionally, throughout the six-week challenge, 8,000 players will be awarded in-game currency each week. The leaderboards reset every Friday to give players a new shot at winning prize money, high-end gaming rigs, and the chance to rise in the ranks.

“The Alienware Games is the single event I look forward to the most each year. I’m even more excited for this year’s Alienware Games because we are able to award bigger cash prizes and rewards for those that compete and there will be a total of 48,000 winners throughout the entire competition,” commented Uri Marchand, CEO of Overwolf. “Grab your best friend and make sure you don’t miss out on your chance to walk away as a winner this year.”

In the Semi-Finals, the top eight players from each game will be randomly drawn into four groups and compete in mini-tournaments across all four game titles leading up to the finale. The 2021 Alienware Games will culminate in a live-broadcast finale on October 23rd, 2021, where the top two finalists from each group will compete for the title of Alienware Games Grand Champion with a total cash prize pool of $73,000 on the line. All eight players will walk away with a portion of the prize pool, with the winner taking home $15,000 and the runner-up winning $10,000.00. The live broadcast will be streamed on twitch.tv/alienware and will be hosted by Adam Savage with on-air shout casters Falloutt and JacobMvPr giving detailed and entertaining play-by-plays.

Professional athletes, popular influencers, and celebrities will be joining in for the challenges, including award-winning actor, Caleb McLaughlin; gamer and popular actress, Felicia Day; and professional baseball player, Manny Machado. Additionally, esports professionals and gaming personalities will be joining the games including Team Liquid members Tyler “Scoped” Appleby and Lucas “Mendo” Håkansson, along with Austin “BiffleWiffle” Drippon, Nicolas “Nicovald” Valderrama Flores, Andrew “Sigils” Gilver, Brittany “Brittnaynay3” Mayer, Karan “Skittlz” Gowda, Chance “SoloRenektonOnly” Morris, Alex “Aka Formula” Kushelevskiy, and GhostNinja.

“When we started dreaming this up with the teams at Alienware and Mediacom, we sought to develop a contest that would help us crown the best pound for pound gamer in the United States across any game – the US Open of Gaming.” says Playwire Global EVP of Sales, Anthony Alexander. “With the Olympics capturing everyone’s attention, we’ve harnessed the nation’s competitive spirit to launch a ‘triathlon’ for gamers that rewards the community with insane prizing and experiences for simply doing what they love. This is the perfect value exchange between brand and audience, and we are grateful for all our partners that helped to bring this to life.”
