Ankama, a major transmedia universe developer and publisher, and New Tales, an independent game publisher and developer, have signed a long-term partnership for the global distribution of Ankama’s next game, WAVEN. The partnership follows the successful collaboration between the two teams for several months.
WAVEN is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical RPG set in the Krosmoz universe and is slated for release before the end of 2023 on Windows PC, Mac, smartphones, and tablet devices. The game is the third major installment in the tale Ankama has been narrating for over 15 years. In the game, players discover the World of Twelve after it has been almost completely submerged in a mysterious disaster. Only the roofs of the tallest buildings and highest mountain tops are accessible, and the survivors sail the high seas in search of the resources they need to survive and thrive.
Under this partnership, New Tales will provide its cutting-edge expertise as a game operator servicing international communities to help Ankama bring WAVEN to as many players as possible globally. The two companies had signed a first strategic partnership six months ago to begin preparing for the launch of WAVEN, and this productive collaboration has now evolved into a global co-publishing agreement.
