Apex Legends Season 3: Release Date, New Legends, New Weapons and More

It seems like EA and Respawn learned their lesson with Season 2 which came up too late. After Apex Legends gained 50 million players in the first month in February 2019, players started to get bored with the gameplay just because there were not any major changes to keep the game interesting. Season 2 introduced us to some radical changes as well as some new characters and monsters that invaded King’s Canyon.

This was the right move to go for just because Apex Legends started to lose its popularity and season 2 made sure that made the game more interesting gaining new players again. Apex Legends is already a part of big eSports championship as many professional individuals gather to play so you can bet on teams and players, in a similar way to college football bets.

However, Season 2 was released in July 2019 which does not seem that long ago but all actions say they are preparing for Season 3 in near future. Let’s get right into it and see all the details.

When will Season 2 end?

Respawn took the trouble to inform the players that each Apex Legends season will last approximately three months. So, since Season 1 ended on June 18 only one day before the three month schedule, we can expect the wild Season 2 to end on October 1.

When will Season 3 be released?

Just because we still don’t have an official answer, we can expect the release to be similar to the first season change in which Season 1 ended on June 18 and Season 2 started on July 2 leaving a gap of two weeks. If they continue with the same routine, we can expect Season 3 to start after October 15.

Will Season 3 include any map changes?

The main rival for Apex Legends is Fortnite and the map changes are not comparable. Fortine had some major changes over the years such as meteor strikes, volcanic eruptions, icebergs and etc. so if Apex Legends wants to keep up, it has to include some radical map changes to keep the game alive. In Season 1 we did not see any map changes there were some giant Leviathans that circle around the island, but Season 2 came up with some changes like destroyed areas, invaded island and new portals. This means that Season 3 will continue on the same path with some changes in the map, but we cannot expect drastic changes like Fortnite.

Will Season 3 include new characters?

One of the most important questions of every Apex Legends player is to see if there will be any new characters. Season 1 introduced us to Octane and Season 2 gave us Wattson. Fortunately, we will continue to see new characters in the new season as the legend Crypto is lined up for the battle. He is some kind of hacker equipped with sword and apparently it can jam enemy abilities. We were given a teaser of this character in the trailer of Season 2 but we did not get the chance to see his face.

However, there is still one more character that is rumored to be released after Crypto and that is Kuben Blisk. To some Titanfall players this character will be recognizable as he appeared in Titanfall.

It is rumored that he will have a very aggressive style with abilities like interrogation by revealing the location of the enemy, throwing knifes and ordering special weapon packages. But we’ll have to wait and see if this becomes reality.

What else will be new in Season 3?

Some leaks appeared on Reddit of a new weapon called Charge Rifle as well as a Frankenstein Halloween skin for Gibraltar that makes him look scary. Since they were both just pictures taken from some kind of presentation from GameStop conference, further specifications were not revealed.

We can also expect some new events since this patch will run until New Year, so we can definitely expect to see new skins, Christmas events and much more.

Even though there were no drastic changes to Apex Legends from the start, the game still feels interesting and filled with character as we can see that they are building a story behind every character (Legend) that appears. We hope that Season 3 will be even more interesting than the previous two.
