The latest Indie World Showcase presented by Nintendo showcased an impressive lineup of over 20 indie games arriving on the Nintendo Switch in 2023 and beyond. Among the highlights of the presentation was the announcement of Blasphemous 2, which includes the first trailer and a summer 2023 release date. Shadows Over Loathing, a slapstick RPG filled with mobsters, monsters, and mysteries, was also featured, with a release on the Nintendo eShop slated for later today.
Other notable games showcased include Mineko’s Night Market, an adventure-sim about a girl exploring her new home at the base of Mount Fugu, set to launch on September 26th. My Time at Sandrock, the captivating sequel to My Time at Portia, is scheduled to release this summer. Additionally, the free Relics of the Old Faith update for Cult of the Lamb will be available on April 24th, bringing new challenges, enemies, and ways to control non-believers in the colony-simulation game.
Mineko’s Night Market: A narrative adventure-sim where players control Mineko and do various jobs, befriend townsfolk, and craft items for the weekly Night Market. The game features exploration, puzzles, and mini-games like joining parades and entering cat races. Available on Nintendo Switch starting September 26th.
My Time at Sandrock: A sequel to My Time at Portia, where players are tasked with restoring a post-apocalyptic desert community. The game involves gathering resources, assembling machines, exploring ancient ruins, and engaging in melee combat with monsters. Launching on Nintendo Switch this summer.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach: The latest installment of the horror game series where players control Gregory, a young boy trapped in Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex. Players must survive reimagined Five Nights at Freddy’s characters and new threats. Available later today.
Shadows Over Loathing: A slapstick RPG set in the 1920s within the West of Loathing universe, featuring a black-and-white world filled with talking frogs, sentient math, and eldritch horrors. Available on Nintendo Switch later today.
OXENFREE II: Lost Signals: A narrative-driven adventure game set five years after OXENFREE. Players control Riley, who returns to her hometown of Camena to research strange electromagnetic waves. Launching on Nintendo Switch on July 12th.
Quilts and Cats of Calico: An adaptation of the tabletop game Calico, where players create quilts from patterned pieces of fabric to attract adorable cats. The game supports local and online multiplayer and launches on Nintendo Switch this fall.
A Little to the Left Cupboards & Drawers: Paid DLC for A Little to the Left featuring 25 new puzzles, secret compartments, and charming illustrations. Launching on Nintendo Switch this June.
Teslagrad 2 and Teslagrad Remastered: Physics-based puzzle games where players harness electromagnetic powers to solve puzzles and explore Scandinavian-inspired environments. Launching on Nintendo Switch later today.
Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon Puzzler’s Pack: Free DLC for Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon featuring new playable characters, challenges, and in-game items. Launching on Nintendo Switch this spring.
Cult of the Lamb Relics of the Old Faith: Free update for Cult of the Lamb adding new items, relics, enemies, buildings, and an unlockable quest. Launching on Nintendo Switch on April 24th.

Rift of the NecroDancer: A spinoff of Crypt of the NecroDancer, featuring rhythm-based lane combat and boss battles. Launching on Nintendo Switch this year.
PlateUp!: A roguelite management-sim where players create, decorate, and automate their dream restaurant while managing the kitchen and front of house. Supports local and online multiplayer, launching on Nintendo Switch in October.
Crime O’Clock: A puzzle-exploration game with over 40 cases to solve across time and space. Players visit different eras and see how crime scenes develop, with actions in one era affecting events in another. Launching on Nintendo Switch on June 30.
Several other indie games were featured in an exciting montage, showcasing a bright future for the Nintendo Switch. With a diverse range of games, from adventure and puzzle-solving to action and management-sims, there’s something for every gamer to look forward to in the coming months and years.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk: A game by Team Reptile where players dance, paint, perform tricks, face off with the police, and reach new heights of graffiti. Launching on August 18th.
Paper Trail: An adventure game by Newfangled Games in which players fold, twist, and rotate the world itself to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. Launching in August.
Little Kitty, Big City: A sandbox exploration game by Double Dagger Studio featuring customizable kitties in a whimsical adventure. Launching in 2024.
Chants of Sennaar: A game by Runedisk and Focus Entertainment set in an endless labyrinth where ancient languages serve as both the lock and the key. Launching on September 5th.
Brotato: A top-down arena shooter roguelite by Blobfish and Seaven Studio where players control a potato wielding up to six weapons at a time to fight off hordes of aliens. Launching this year.
Escape Academy: The Complete Edition: A game by Coin Crew Games and iam8bit featuring hand-crafted escape-room puzzles that can be played locally or online with friends. Launching this fall.
