TrickJump Games, in collaboration with PQube, has released their much-anticipated cyberpunk action roguelite game, ‘ArcRunner’, on Steam, Epic Store, and GOG. Console gamers need not worry, as the game is also set to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X later this year.
In ‘ArcRunner’, players take on the role of a cybernetic android, whose mind houses the greatest tactical operative ever known. The objective is simple: defeat the zone Guardians, make it to KORE, and restore sanity. Players will face off against relentless swarms of hostile robotic enemies, each one programmed with the sole aim of annihilating the player.
The game offers a diverse range of characters to suit each player’s unique combat style, and after every successful level, players will have the opportunity to upgrade their android using cutting-edge augmentations. Experiment with a wide variety of firepower, team up with friends online, and work together to save ‘The Arc’.
Cooperative multiplayer allows up to three players to join forces in a bid to conquer the rogue AI. As players progress through the game, they will encounter multiple zones, each with its own set of randomly generated levels. These levels range from the dystopian cyberpunk cityscape to the luxurious Eden Heights, ensuring that each playthrough is unique and unpredictable.
Players can choose from three distinct character classes: the Soldier, the Ninja, and the Hacker. Each character boasts unique abilities, weapons, and advantages that cater to specific playstyles. The Soldier relies on brute force and versatility, while the Ninja excels in speed and stealth. The Hacker, on the other hand, is a specialist in infiltration and subversion, employing unique tactics such as hacking enemies to fight on their side.
As players traverse The Arc, they will discover and acquire new weapons like the cluster-firing-shotgun ‘Demolisher’ and the pin-point accurate ‘Plasma Bow’. These weapons can be further upgraded with nanites earned during each run. In addition, players can purchase powerful meta-progression upgrades in the cryochamber to increase damage, health, add weapon mod slots, and equip powerful augmentations to help them survive.
