Composer Mike Raznick provides immersive live orchestral score supporting the environmental charity for adventure/nature documentary hybrid experience AWAY
Composer Mike Raznick is pleased to present the soundtrack to AWAY: The Survival Series. Available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, AWAY follows a sugar glider’s journey to save its family as players create their own immersive nature documentary through their in-game actions. Raznick’s dynamic score blends live orchestra with his experience as an environmental scientist to create the perfect accompaniment for this riveting journey through nature. All soundtrack proceeds are being donated to support The Audubon Society, a charitable organization that works to protect birds and their habitats.
“Tasked with bringing life to a primal world where humans no longer exist, my goal with the dynamically-driven music score for AWAY was to present emotions of wonderment, mystery, love, fear and adventure through custom-designed organic soundscapes, woodwind, and classically composed string solos and an emotionally charged live orchestral performance,” notes Raznick. “With a passion and commitment to understanding, experiencing, and preserving the natural world around us, this project is close to my heart. The opportunity to collaborate on a game that showcases survival in the natural world has been immensely inspiring.”
Raznick is no stranger to scoring nature-focused projects, having worked on BBC’s Life and Planet Earth II documentaries.
