Ready Player One recently stormed box offices, showcasing an immersive virtual reality (VR) universe where you can go anywhere, do anything, be anyone. But VR wasn’t just part of the film’s universe – it was also a tool used during the production of the film.
This morning Vive debuted a behind the scenes video that showcases how Director Steven Spielberg, co-screenwriter Ernest Cline, and actor Tye Sheridan used Vive during the production process.
Throughout the duration of filming, filmmakers used Vive headsets to scout shots virtually, adjust camera angles and design sets in real-time. Some members of the Ready Player One cast also wore Vive headsets to familiarize themselves with the virtual set before filming.
