Big Fish Games Expanding North American Presence with New Orleans Office.
Leading casual games company to hire for a range of positions in Louisiana, connecting with the region’s talent in partnership with GNO.
Big Fish Games, developer of hit casual games, EverMerge, and Gummy Drop! today announced plans to open a new office in New Orleans. The company is establishing a talent hub in the city, tapping into the exceptional candidates in Louisiana’s rapidly expanding creative tech sector to support its growing global business in casual games.
New Orleans is the natural next home for Big Fish, which has several existing studios across North America. Having recently been recognized as a Built In ‘Great Place to Work’, the company aims to grow its headcount in New Orleans to over 40 employees over the next several years. In partnership with GNO, Inc — New Orleans’ regional economic development nonprofit — Big Fish intends to connect with talent by establishing partnerships with local universities and digital training schools.
Given its strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Big Fish also plans to utilize GNO Inc.’s partnerships with local organizations to expand its existing program of DEI initiatives and foster a more inclusive and diverse talent pipeline.
“Big Fish is a collaborative company, and we are excited to work with partners who share our philosophy that making games should be fun as well as inclusive. We believe this new hub will help diversify what we call the Big Fish Reef—a vibrant, diverse ecosystem where everyone thrives—as well as support our ambition to become a Top 10 publisher of mobile casual games,” said Larry Plotnick, President of Big Fish Games.
Big Fish hopes to attract new graduates from local universities alongside more experienced professionals, all of whom will help reinforce and enhance Big Fish’ people-first culture.
“Louisiana continues to stand out and attract technology companies because of our dynamic, skilled workforce,” Gov. John Bel Edwards said. “These companies, like Big Fish Games, help diversify the state’s economy, while also empowering Louisianans with new jobs and opportunities for professional success.”
Michael Hecht, President and CEO of GNO, Inc. added, “Big Fish Gaming is a global leader in casual and mobile gaming, meaning we are adding another world-class company to our burgeoning video game sector in Greater New Orleans. With every new software job in our region, we are not only creating more opportunity for our residents, we are also establishing Greater New Orleans as a diverse and productive technology hub.”
As well as highly competitive pay, prospective employees stand to benefit from a multitude of employee-led perks and experiences at Big Fish, including flexible work arrangements and Wellness Fridays.
