Pearl Abyss has unveiled a revamped trading system for its popular MMORPG, Black Desert Online. The update aims to make trading more fun, easier to understand, and similar to real-world economics. Over the past few years, the developers have been focusing on improving accessibility, enhancing the quality of life, and simplifying the onboarding process within the game.
Key improvements to Black Desert Online’s trading system include:
- Real-World Dynamics: Emulating real-life supply and demand dynamics, the updated trading system allows players to earn silver, the game’s primary currency, through buying and selling trade items in various locations. The system reflects the sophisticated structure of real-world economies, with players needing to consider the best prices for their transactions.
- Rumors: To integrate trading more seamlessly into the game’s environment, players can now hear rumors in towns about market price fluctuations. However, not all rumors are accurate, and players must make informed decisions based on their judgment. By observing market trends and listening to NPC chatter, players can study market fluctuations and make profitable trading decisions.
- Quality of Life Improvements: The development team has introduced several upgrades to make trading more accessible and enjoyable. These include:
- An increased weight limit for the “Flimsy Wagon,” which can now carry 900 LT of goods (up from 270 LT previously)
- Trade item prices that depend on the “time of purchase,” which can be stored in the “Order Contract Log,” giving players more time to develop their trading strategies
- Fixed market price changes every four hours, allowing players to plan trading strategies based on anticipated price changes
In addition to the trading system revamp, Black Desert Online has implemented other accessibility improvements, such as UI enhancements, silver sharing across characters within the same family, and reduced weight restrictions in the Central Market storage.
