BLAST Premier Fall Series and Showdown to be played online

BLAST Premier’s highly anticipated Fall Series and Showdown will take an online-only format in October and November due to recent travel restrictions and the ongoing global uncertainty.

BLAST Premier Fall Series (October 22nd-4th November) and BLAST Premier Fall Showdown (November 23rd-29th) will see the world’s top Counter Strike teams and talent go head-to-head for a place in the Fall Final (8th-13th December).

The Fall Series will be split into two groups by region in which each team is based – either Americas or Europe. The European side of the tournament will consist of eight teams split into two groups made up of four each, while the Americas side will have one group of four teams with all groups being a Bo3 double elimination.

Teams competing in the BLAST Premier Fall Series include: Astralis, NiP, G2 Esports, OG, Vitality, NaVi, FaZe Clan and Complexity in the European side of the tournament, while 100 Thieves, MiBR, Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid make up the Americas side.

Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST, said: “After delivering highly successful online-only events in June for our BLAST Premier Spring Showdown and Final, we are in an even better place now to produce an immersive and engaging tournament where the finest Counter Strike teams from all around the world will be competing.

“We’ve learnt how to get the best out of the online-only format along the way and look forward to putting on three weeks of top-class entertainment for our fans to enjoy.”

Winners of the Fall Series and Showdown will qualify for the Fall Final. BLAST will monitor developments around the world closely in the next few months with the hope of hosting the Fall Final as a LAN event at the end of the year.

BLAST hosted their Spring Showdown and Final online in June where viewers enjoyed a fan-first and immersive broadcast experience that included the innovative use of fan cams for the first time in esports. Counter Strike fans will be able to enjoy over 100 hours of action from anywhere in the world in October and November.
