Toko Midori Games, a Finnish-Japanese game publisher, has recently introduced its latest gaming creation, Bone Dust v.1.0. Developed by Finnish game developer Platonic Partnership, this first-person bullet-hell shooter combines a mesmerizing art style with challenging gameplay, inspired by nightmarish circus-themed adversaries.

In Bone Dust, players must navigate through an expansive corridor-like arena while battling enemies using rapid-fire playing cards. The objective is to survive the onslaught of bullets and overcome increasingly difficult challenges. Fans of games like Devil Daggers are sure to appreciate the adrenaline-fueled gameplay Bone Dust has to offer.

Jussi Loukiainen, co-founder of Platonic Partnership, expressed excitement about the game’s launch and its distinctive visuals and gameplay. The company is also exploring innovative ways to monetize gaming by incorporating elements from arcade machines and their paid leaderboards. Toko Midori, the artist behind the publisher brand, explained that while the game is free to download on Steam, leaderboard runs will require a token to be deposited before the run starts. This monetization strategy, called “pay-to-brag,” is a modern digital adaptation of the classic arcade system.

Players can purchase a set of 10 tokens for $/€ 2, which amounts to less than a quarter ($0.25) per run. This unique business model aims to create an engaging and competitive environment, encouraging players to showcase their skills and rank on the leaderboards.

Bone Dust v.1.0 is now available as a free download on Steam, offering gamers a fresh take on the bullet-hell shooter genre with its striking visuals, challenging gameplay, and innovative monetization approach.
