‘Borderlands 3’ 2 Year Anniversary Update Starts Today with ‘Loot the Universe’ Mini-Event Series

Enjoy five weeks of mini-events and some surprise goodies to celebrate the anniversary of Borderlands 3

Two years since launch and Borderlands 3 is still going strong, all thanks to the unstoppable Borderlands community! There’s been plenty of mayhem made since the game’s previous Year in Review check-in, including the highly-requested Crossplay Update; in-game additions like Crazy Earl’s Reroll Machine and Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine; and the launch of the Director’s Cut add-on, with its raid boss, story missions, behind-the-scenes content, and Vault Cards.

To celebrate the second anniversary of Borderlands 3 on September 13th, 2021, they have five weeks of mini-events lined up to show our appreciation for the community’s passion and support! Starting August 12th, 2021, the fan-favorite Loot the Universe series of mini-events that reward you with loads of Legendary loot for seeing (then shooting) the planetary sights will be back.

Each week during Loot the Universe, a different Borderlands 3 planet will become a bastion of better drops, with specific types of Legendary loot having increased chances of dropping in one of that planet’s zones. You’ll get to keep all the bonus Legendary loot you find during these mini-events, and it’ll be up to the community to discover what kind of Legendary loot drops where, so mark your calendars:

  • Week 1 (9:00 AM PT August 12 to 8:59 AM PT August 19th, 2021) – Pandora;
  • Week 2 (9:00 AM PT August 19 to 8:59 AM PT August 26th, 2021) – Promethea;
  • Week 3 (9:00 AM PT August 26 to 8:59 AM PT September 2nd, 2021) – Eden-6;
  • Week 4 (9:00 AM PT September 2 to 8:59 AM PT September 9th, 2021) – Nekrotafeyo.

The fun doesn’t stop after your galactic tour! Starting September 9th, 2021 at 9:00 AM PT, two more mini-events commence in tandem (and conclude one week later): Mayhem Made Mild, where you’ll only encounter Easy modifiers in Mayhem Mode; and Show Me the Eridium, which grants increased Eridium drops and Eridium item discounts. They have even more planned for the big day on September 13th, 2021 but they don’t want to spoil the surprise just yet.
