The Call of Duty Endowment, in partnership with Activision Blizzard, is kicking off Military Appreciation Month by launching an in-game fundraising activation called “Loot for Good” in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. The initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for the employment of veterans, especially female veterans, who face unique challenges when seeking civilian jobs.

As part of the “Loot for Good” campaign, players can participate in the first charity extraction challenge within the popular DMZ mode. In this challenge, Activision Blizzard will donate $1 to the Call of Duty Endowment for each DMZ match in which a player extracts at least $30,000 of in-game cash, up to a maximum of $1 million. Participants can track their progress on the Loot for Good Leaderboard, which will be updated daily based on in-game activity.

To further promote the campaign, country music duo War Hippies have recorded a special version of their hit single, “The Hangman,” featuring new lyrics dedicated to the “Loot for Good” initiative. The adapted song and video, which includes Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 footage, encourages players to “do it for the ones who make us free.” War Hippies members Scooter Brown and Donnie Reis, both combat veterans, are actively involved in advocacy work supporting their fellow veterans and the military community.

The Call of Duty Endowment has a 14-year history of helping veterans find meaningful careers after their military service. To date, the organization has assisted over 118,000 veterans in the US and UK, partnering with the most effective nonprofit organizations to provide low-cost, high-value job placement services. In 2022 alone, the Endowment generated more than $1 billion in economic value for the veterans they helped.

The new policy paper released by the Call of Duty Endowment focuses on the specific challenges faced by female veterans when entering the workforce. The paper outlines the struggles these veterans face, including the fact that they are 2-3 times more likely to be unemployed than their male counterparts, and highlights potential solutions to address these issues.

Through the “Loot for Good” campaign, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 players can support the Call of Duty Endowment’s efforts to provide meaningful employment opportunities for veterans. As Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment and Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at Activision Blizzard, noted, this initiative not only offers a fun gaming experience but also raises awareness for the importance of finding jobs for veterans.
