Pixel Ripped 1995 released on Steam, Oculus Rift, and Quest stores in April and the game currently sits with an average score of 82% on Metacritic and an average user rating of 96%, with comments from press and players agreeing that the title improves on the first one in all aspects. Its prequel, Pixel Ripped 1989, has won numerous awards, including Most Innovative Game at Brazil’s International Game (BIG) Festival 2019, the New Face Award, earned at the 22nd Edition of the Japan Media Arts Festival, and was selected to be part of the Best VR Games Showcase at SIGGRAPH 2019.
A unique “game-within-a-game”, Pixel Ripped 1995 immerses players in the nostalgia of classic gaming as they assume the role of 9-year-old gaming fan David. Recruited as the best gamer of the year by video game protagonist Dot, David becomes immersed in the world of video games — literally!
