Paradox Interactive has revealed Cities: Skylines – Hotels & Retreats, the final expansion for their popular city-building game developed by Colossal Order. Alongside the expansion, Paradox also unveiled the Industrial Evolution, Railroads of Japan, and Brooklyn & Queens content creator packs. These additions mark the end of the ‘Cities: Skylines World Tour’ and bring even more customization and depth to the game. The Hotels & Retreats expansion and Content Creator Packs are set to launch on May 23rd, 2023.

The upcoming Cities: Skylines – Hotels & Retreats mini-expansion allows players to construct luxury accommodations and tourist attractions to enhance their city’s economy. Players will begin with a small hotel chain and gradually unlock more specialized lodgings.

Key features of the Hotels & Retreats expansion include:

  • Hotel Buildings: Ranging from hostels and cabins to luxury resorts, players can add a variety of hotel buildings to their city on various budgets.
  • Hotel Management: Start with one-star hotels and unlock new options as business revenue and popularity grow.
  • Tourism Buildings: Complement hotels with new structures, including parks, restaurants, playgrounds, and cafés.
  • Location: Choose the ideal location for hotels, as different spots will attract distinct tourist groups. The expansion includes five new maps (three European-inspired, one tropical, and one temperate).

In addition to the expansion, players can look forward to the following Content Creator Packs:

  • Industrial Evolution: Created by Samantha “Avanya” Woods, this pack includes 70 new buildings inspired by historic and contemporary industrial structures.
  • Railroads of Japan: From creator Ryuichi Kaminogi, this pack adds authentic Japanese railroad scenery to Cities: Skylines, complete with stations, trains, buses, and more.
  • Brooklyn & Queens: Developed by Prosper, this pack consists of medium-rise, high-density residential buildings and props reminiscent of the Brooklyn and Queens neighborhoods.

Two new radio stations, Piano Tunes Radio and 90’s Pop Radio, will also launch alongside the expansion and Content Creator Packs on May 23.

Though the sequel to Cities: Skylines is in the works, Colossal Order has announced plans to continue general support for the game throughout the remainder of the year. As players prepare for the next chapter in the franchise, these final additions promise to enhance the game’s depth and customization options further.
