Get behind the wheel, drift across desert sands and leave your friends in the dust in Core Keeper’s biggest update yet, The Desert of Beginnings, launching Thursday, November 10th.

Available as a free update, The Desert of Beginnings is the second major content update for Core Keeper following its launch into Early Access earlier this year. Featuring the brand-new ‘Desert of Beginnings’ biome, new ‘Molten Quarry’ sub-biome, an array of exciting new content, including new enemies, weapons, music, base-building options, and a major new feature – karting – The Desert of Beginnings introduces more new content than ever before.

Discover the new Galaxite ore, build a Galaxite workbench, and craft three variations of go-kart, a brand-new vehicle type that explorers can use to traverse the desert sands at high speeds. Dash across the desert to outrun your enemies, or meet up with friends and head out on an off-road adventure together.

While on your journey across the desert’s scorching dunes and ancient tombs, grab the brand-new Bug Net and go insect hunting, catching small beetles, larvas, fireflies, and other friendly critters to display in your game world. With 12 new critters introduced in the update, be sure to explore each of Core Keeper’s biomes to find them all.

A range of new weapons, gear, tools, and fish will also be available as players challenge themselves to defeat two new bosses: Igneous the Molten Mass, and Ra-Akar the Sand Titan. Plus, several community-requested quality-of-life improvements will be introduced, including Steam Achievements; the ability to fish from boats and minecarts; clickable recipes to add ingredients to the cooking pot automatically; and the option to destroy, pick up and place a selection of larger world objects.

Core Keeper is a 1-8 player mining sandbox adventure set in an ancient cavern of creatures, treasures, and trinkets, with over 1 million players who have already started their journey underground. Mine relics and resources to build your base, craft new equipment, and survive. Defeat giant monsters, discover hidden secrets, farm crops, go fishing, cook new recipes, and explore a procedurally generated underground world to unravel the mystery of the ancient core.

Core Keeper’s Creepy Costume Party, a Halloween-themed seasonal event filled with spooktacular surprises and eerie excavation, is currently live in-game until Monday, November 5th, where players can unlock a range of rare Halloween outfits. An additional seasonal event is also planned for December.
