UPDATE 3:24 PM PST: CS: GO has addressed the issue via Twitter although other games may still be affected.
We have reviewed the leaked code and believe it to be a reposting of a limited CS:GO engine code depot released to partners in late 2017, and originally leaked in 2018. From this review, we have not found any reason for players to be alarmed or avoid the current builds.

Is it time for the official migration of CS: GO players to full-time Valorant? Maybe so. Today possibly a 4chan Hacker has hacked into the Source Code of Counter-strike: Global Offensive and Team Fortress 2 and leaked it onto the internet. @SteamDB first reported the link via twitter explaining a situation of licensees being made available to the code prior to the leak.

Multiple sources have advised players to stay away from any Valve related multiplayer games. It will now be possible for hackers to deliver malware via Code Injection/Remote Code Execution to other players. Reports have already emerged of players being compromised allowing PCs to get infected by playing on servers with malicious bots. Valve has not yet released an official statement.
One freelance Game Developer and Writer @JaycieErysdren claims to know the entire story which involves a dispute between Tyler and a longtime associate who was recently removed from Lever software allegedly due to problematic homophobia, transphobia, and racism behavior.
The explanation of every leak from today, April 22 2020.
The reason that this leak happened is because one of Tyler’s longtime associates was recently removed from Lever Softworks due to problematic behavior including racism, homophobia and transphobia. (1/14)

For now, we suggest staying away from any Valve related games until an official statement has been released. Team Fortress 2 servers have already been taken down and we anticipate more to follow. Come on hackers don’t we have enough viruses in this world right now?
