Dimensional Ink Games today launched World of Flashpoint, the latest episode in the free-to-play MMO DC Universe Online (DCUO) game in which players fight alongside DC’s iconic characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, and The Joker. The episode is the first to be free for all players.
In World of Flashpoint, Flashpoint Batman (Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s father), Emperor Aquaman, Flashpoint Wonder Woman, and more are desperately fighting in a fallen world. Atlantis and Themyscira are at war. A violent Batman embraces his darker side, seeking vengeance for his family while protecting a somehow even more dangerous FlashpointGotham City.
This latest episode is inspired by and following the events of DC’s Flashpoint comic book storyline. However, World of Flashpoint is only a small slice of that entire epic. Players will experience the realities of this alternate timeline and witness some of the most essential moments and challenges while striving to set things right. They will also earn villainous gear based on the Heat Wave and Doomsday bosses they face.
Unlike other previously released episodes, World of Flashpoint is free to everyone, permanently, so players can enjoy with their friends without barriers. The episode also has event-level versions of the content in which every player level 15+ can participate. Fans don’t need to be end-game, elite, or a master to jump into World of Flashpoint.
