Destiny 2’s annual Guardian Games event is set to return on May 2nd, offering players three weeks of friendly competition between the game’s three classes: Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans. Running until the end of the Season of Defiance on May 23rd, the event allows Guardians to represent their favorite class and compete for fame and glory while earning rewards and raising funds for charity.
Throughout the Guardian Games, players can collect medallions by participating in various activities, including a class-based iteration of the fan-favorite PvP mode, Supremacy. Two Guardian Games weapons will be up for grabs during the event: Taraxippos, the first Legendary Strand Scout Rifle in the game, and The Title, an updated version of the Void Submachine Gun featuring the popular Repulsor Brace perk.
Players can also access the Guardian Games Event Card, a free offering that presents challenges to complete in exchange for cosmetic rewards such as a new Exotic emote, the brand-new Champ title, and additional Triumphs. The Event Card can be upgraded for 1,000 Silver to unlock instant and extra earnable rewards.
The Guardian Games Cup, which debuted last year, is also making a comeback, and this time it’s open to all. Players worldwide are encouraged to form fireteams and join the Cup, competing in Technical and Charitable categories while raising money for charity. The Technical category measures each registered team’s total number of medals dunked during the event, while the Charitable category tracks funds raised through each team’s official Bungie Foundation sign-up page.
Top teams in both categories can win custom art, Guardian Games Pendants, Apricot Dawn emblems, and Bungie Store discount codes. Participants who donate $25 or more will receive the Quantum Relay emblem. This year, the Bungie Foundation will distribute funds raised equally between Direct Relief and the International Rescue Committee, ensuring a global impact.
