Destiny 2 – Solstice of Heroes 2019 Annual Event

Destiny 2 has started its Solstice of Heroes event — which began July 30th and will run until August 27th. The Solstice of Heroes is a grand tradition among Guardians, and a chance for all players to reflect on past hardships and celebrate the resilience of humanity’s foremost defenders. This joyous event start by visiting Eva Levante near the Statue of Heroes in the Tower.

Players can become more powerful and let the energy flow. The Solstice of Heroes will feature the elements of Solar, Arc, and Void. Players will be awarded with Elemental Orbs when doing an elemental kill. With the orbs that drop, you can upgrade armor by completing objectives. Create whatever orbs are needed for objectives you are working to accomplish … collecting 30 orbs that match the daily element will apply a brief elemental buff.

Hone your skills and take advantage of new elemental buffs with a new ritual created by Eva and Ikora. Players will be exploring a new area called the European Aerial Zone (EAZ) to take on the Hive, Cabal, or Fallen enemies. This is a new, three-player matchmade activity that can be launched from the Tower or the Director. The goal is to defeat as many mini-bosses as you are able to before the time ends. Once the time runs out, players will fight against the final boss. When that final boss is dead, players will be able to explore the area to search for treasure chests. The more mini-bosses defeated, the more treasure will available!

These treasure chests will have Solstice Packages that are opened with Solstice Key Fragments. These fragments are earned by completing any activity during the Solstice of Heroes, which is similar to Essence of Dawning. These Solstice Packages will have rare and legendary gear, enhancement cores, and materials. Once you earn the Legendary armor packages, players will receive additional armor so that they can hunt for rolls with enhanced perks. Collecting all of the Solstice Legendary armor sets will grant access to the EV-37 Voidstreak Sparrow.

The Solstice of Heroes armor sets will need to be upgraded from the “Drained” state to “Renewed” state. When the upgrade process is complete, players are granted with the “Majestic” Legendary set. In order to upgrade the armor, players must complete different objectives for each armor piece before continuing on to the next. There will be a final set of objectives to unlock the Masterwork version. Upgrading the sets will take some time and commitment … so try to have fun with it.

Just like other events, there will be new offerings from the Eververse Store. Unfortunately, there won’t be an event engram this time. In lieu of the event, players will be able to buy the items using Silver and Bright Dust. There will be Armor glows available to add on the Solstice of Heroes armor sets. These glows will show up on any version of the set and will shine brightest when the subclass element aligns with the element.

Those are just some of the updates that will be available in the Solstice of Heroes event. The event will last from July 30th to August 27th. The fourth expansion “Shadowkeep” will be coming out on September 17, 2019.
