Detached to get a cross-platform PvP mode and a non-VR version on July 6th this year!

What’s better than exploring space and proving you’ve got what it takes to be a real astronaut? Doing it while competing online with another player! So get your spacesuits, VR headsets, and PCs ready for an epic space rivalry that blasts off on July 6th this year.

After recently announcing that Detached is coming to PSVR, Anshar Studios’ developers are back with more exciting news. Not only will PSVR owners soon be able to immerse themselves in a stunning space experience, but gamers who don’t own a VR headset will also get their chance to try their luck in Detached. But’s that’s not all: they’ll be able to compete with other players in thrilling multiplayer modes and it doesn’t matter whether they own a HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, PSVR or PC only!

Got PSVR and want to play online with your best friend, but they only own an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive? Fear not, the Anshar Studios devs have got you covered! With their amazing development approach, they were able to…

Hang on – let’s drop this whole marketing babble for once and be honest here. In fact, we’re ready to bet dollars to doughnuts you’re probably the only VR freak in your neighborhood, and you always have a hard time finding anybody who even HAS a VR headset, not to mention owning one that’s the same kind as yours. So, it’d be pretty sweet to finally end the struggle and actually be able to play with somebody online regardless of the platform they’re gaming on, don’t you think? And that’s precisely where Detachedsteps in: it doesn’t matter whether you own an Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PSVR, or even if you have one at all, you’ll still be able kick your buddy’s butt (or get your butt kicked) in one of the game’s PvP modes:

Package Extraction – An exciting battle for cargo in the middle of nowhere. Use all possible means to attack your opponent and gain an advantage. Avoid attacks to get back to the base in one piece.

Race – It’s a real roller-coaster ride! Racing between pieces of broken shuttle and large asteroids not only requires agility, but above all the ability to anticipate. One thoughtless move and you’ll crash when you least expect it.

Detached

Detached was first released on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and the game is now planned to launch on PlayStation VR and on Steam as a non-VR version on July 6th this year. For the PSVR version, that’s one day later than originally announced, due to a holiday in the US.

Sony’s VR headset owners will be able to get Detached for $24.99 / 24.99 EUR, while the Steam non‑VR version will be available for $14.99. There’s even a free desktop demo version of the game that will soon be available too!

So far, Detached has received great opinions from players who have appreciated the amazing quality of the graphics, excellent immersion, and unprecedented freedom of movement compared to other games. Still, to make the game even better, a content update is also planned for the date mentioned above, July 6th. It’ll expand the gameplay by about 30 additional minutes, adding a brand-new ending to the game.
