After a successful year in Early Access, the siege-survival real-time strategy (RTS) game, Diplomacy Is Not An Option, is preparing to exit Early Access and launch officially in November. The game has attracted a dedicated player base, and the developers are set to deliver a series of updates, including a major content update in Spring and a massive campaign in November.
The Spring update introduces a casual Sandbox mode, giving players a more relaxed gaming experience. Additionally, new technologies will be available for research at the University, expanding gameplay options. Players can also look forward to the introduction of new Oil, Stake, and Mine traps to enhance their defensive capabilities.
However, the most significant update is reserved for November, with the game’s official launch. The following features are expected to be included in this colossal update:
- A massive, branching story-driven campaign with two primary story arcs and multiple endings, allowing players to either fight for the crown or rebel against it.
- Enhanced environment and mission variety, new enemy types (both human and monstrous), and additional strategies for achieving victory.
- A total of twelve new Challenge maps and six new Endless Mode maps for players to tackle.
- A comprehensive map and mission editor, enabling players to create, share, and challenge each other with intricate new scenarios.
The developers have released a new trailer showcasing the upcoming features, as well as some unexpected office drama. The trailer provides a sneak peek at the large-scale battles and intriguing storyline that await players in the full release.
Diplomacy Is Not An Option is currently available in Early Access on Steam, GOG, and Humble for £19.99/$24.99/€20.99, with the full launch planned for November.
