Materia Collective is pleased to present the driving and otherworldly soundtrack to DIVE: Starpath composed by Nick Borrego. DIVE: Starpath is an action-packed runner (or flyer!) developed by Gravity Well Studios that details the adventure of Diver Juno as he pursues a mysterious space traveler around the heavenly orbits of unknown planets. Borrego’s soundtrack combines deep spacey bass lines with ethereal pads and strings to contrast the majesty of space with the sleekness of high-speed spaceflight. “As an eight year old, my motivation to practice piano was hit and miss,” reflects composer Nick Borrego. “As an early teen, playing guitar along with my cassettes of Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and Metallica were what gave me the drive to create my own music. As the digital world eventually opened the gateway to limitless creative potential, my focus shifted to soundtracks. Because of this, my influencers started to include directors like Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, and Ken Levine.”
