Virtuos, a global leader in videogame content production, today announced that 15-year game industry veteran Elijah Freeman has joined its headquarters in Shanghai as Group Development Director, providing global creative and executional direction for the company’s Game Division. Freeman was formally trained as an artist and progressed into game development. He is currently credited on more than 14 AAA titles, including Madden, NCAA, Tiger Woods, and Dust 514. He specializes in building worlds with real presence, as evidenced by his most recent award winning VR titles, The Climb and Robinson: The Journey.

Gilles Langourieux, CEO of Virtuos, said: “As we expand our game development capabilities globally, Virtuos continues to build a diverse world-class team of professionals with relevant experience and unique skillsets. Elijah Freeman brings tremendous knowledge from his tenure producing AAA titles with Crytek, CCP Games and Electronic Arts. We look forward to seeing how he will further shape our development roadmap and continue building out teams with a high standard of excellence.”

Freeman said: “I am very pleased to have joined Virtuos, where I can use my talents and strengths in game development to propel the project ambitions of this fast-growing company to the next level. The team that’s being built here is unparalleled and I’m eager to get started.”

Today’s news falls on the heels of Virtuos’ recent opening of Virtuos Notre-Dame, a Paris-based studio dedicated to mobile game design, and the acquisition of Dublin-based game studio Black Shamrock.
