EPOS a high-quality audio company known as the gaming partner for Sennheiser presents its new flagship headset the EPOS H3PRO. A wireless headset built for gaming that delivers secure low latency wireless performance. Introducing EPOS BrainAdapt technology designed to support the way your brain processes sound to reduce the cognitive load and enhance overall performance in multiple areas. The EPOS H3PRO Hybrid Closed Acoustic Wireless Gaming features passive high-frequency noise cancellation 7.1 Surround Sound, Dual Microphones, up to 30 hours, and a complimentary headset hanger priced at $279.99.

Sticker shock is the first thing that will occur for the average gamer when looking at this price tag. There are a whole lot of things you could buy at this price for your gaming rig. While the sound quality is the main selling point, we still need to cater to the larger gamer market. Making the device compatible with all the major gaming platforms is a major plus. But one major oversight is not including any RGB lighting, especially at this price point! I understand this is a performance-first microphone, but I am sure there was room for some RGB lighting in the production budget at a $279 MSRP.

This headset overall is a little smaller than most but it is also ultralight weighing in at 0.68 pounds. This effect trickles down also making the headband and ear cups a bit smaller size also. There are 10 size settings on the stainless-steel headband, so I don’t think it’s an issue for a larger header. You are gaining of your comfort here due to the headset’s lightweight as opposed to its cushions. Its cushions are a bit thin, but they do have a soft fabric-like surface which is nice. The headband cushion is also thin but features a fake leather type surface which is not as comfortable as the earcups. Being so lightweight you won’t even notice it on your head for many hours into your gaming session.

Outside you will find a magnetically detachable boom arm which also comes with a small plastic piece to cover the exposed hardware when taken off. A great feature for those who want to take your headset out for some daily lifestyle use. Along with your standard Bluetooth pairing and power button you will find an Advanced Noise Cancelation toggle switch allowing you to turn it on and off instantly. I am really impressed with the design I wish it came in more colors though.

From a performance perspective, you can expect a top-tier score due to its influence from Sennheiser. It all starts with a lag-free low latency dongle that optimizes the wireless experience. It has some deep bass which allows you to hear those important sounds like footsteps before the opponent. EPOS has its own proprietary BrainAdapt audio technology which is absolute “Gas”. This headset sounds and performs at a very high level and will not disappoint on the battlefield.

Even with the greatness of the audio technology, I would like to see this headset priced at around $199.99. Throw me a bone here and set me up with some dope RGB lighting for my battle station. I also would like to find a color closer to the theme of my rig. While these small things don’t affect performance they do mean a great deal to most gamers.
