Europa Universalis IV: Domination, the highly-anticipated expansion to Paradox Interactive’s flagship historical grand strategy game, is set to release on April 18th, 2023. Players can now pre-order the expansion to get a bonus music pack, “March of Power,” which includes six new tracks to enhance the experience of their conquests.
The new add-on offers players an array of new historical flavors, decisions, and features for some of EU4’s most popular and powerful nations. These include new mission trees, historical government reforms, estate challenges, and units that add greater variety and tougher choices. The expansion also includes new national mission trees and features for several nations, such as the Ottoman Empire, China, Japan, Russia, Spain, France, and Great Britain. The Ottoman Empire, for instance, gets a revised conquest tree with new rewards for pushing Ottoman dominance through the new Eyalet system. The expansion also includes new internal changes, such as the new Janissary estate, the new Ottoman Decadence mechanic, and the ‘Ottoman Power Struggle disaster. Meanwhile, players can choose between expansion and Inward Perfection for China and deal with the power of the Shogun and the independent Daimyos in Japan.
Russia, on the other hand, offers players the chance to free their country of the Tatar Yoke and transform it into a Great Empire. They can choose the path of Peter’s reforms to modernize the state, so their mission tree as well as their mechanics will change and evolve as the game progresses. Players can use the power of Cossacks and Streltsy to expand their Empire to the East and West. France offers players an expanded mission tree to fight the end of the Hundred Years War, centralize France into an absolute monarchy while dealing with the Wars of Religion, expand into Italy and the Holy Roman Empire, and lead the Revolution.
In addition to these features, Europa Universalis IV: Domination includes new art and music, flavorful estates, reforms, special units, and events to the leading powers. A major update will also be available for all Europa Universalis IV players for free.
