In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the renowned spacefaring MMO, EVE Online, CCP Games has announced a special opportunity for players to have their character’s name engraved on the Worlds Within A World EVE Monument in Reykjavik, Iceland. This marks the first chance in a decade for EVE pilots to join the legends of New Eden and become a part of the game’s enduring legacy.
The Worlds Within A World EVE Monument Extension will allow eligible players to immortalize their character’s name on the iconic monument. To qualify for this opportunity, players must have an active Omega account at 11:00 UTC on May 6th, 2023. The updated monument is set to be unveiled to the public at EVE Fanfest 2023, which takes place from September 21st – 23rd, 2023. Tickets for this event can be purchased on Eventbrite. Additionally, players who are already featured on the monument and maintain an Omega pilot status on May 6, 2023, will be honored with a prestigious titan chevron icon next to their name.
Created in 2014, Worlds Within A World is an outdoor sculpture designed by artist Sigurður Guðmundsson. The monument stands over five meters tall and features two primary elements facing each other across a highly polished stainless steel surface. The left side of the sculpture displays a dark aluminum structure with a quote from the EVE Universe, while the right side showcases a dark granite facial figure representing the game’s players.
As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, EVE Online will also host its annual Capsuleer Day event, commencing on May 2nd, 2023. This event will include anniversary-themed activities and rewards, such as the unveiling of The Fabric of New Eden Mosaic and a special fireworks show at Jita 4-4 on May 6th. Players are encouraged to participate in the Capsuleer Day festivities and share their experiences online using the hashtag #EVEOnline20.
