Indie developer Grenaa Games and publisher Dear Villagers have announced the release of Fabledom, a fairytale-inspired city builder, on Steam Early Access on April 13th. Set in a whimsical storybook kingdom inhabited by trolls, knights, and princesses, Fabledom offers players a casual and relaxing city-building experience.
In Fabledom, players can create their own enchanted village from scratch, populating it with various structures such as castles, barracks, farms, fields, and houses. The game offers a range of decorations and utilities, allowing players to customize their buildings and create a charming and functional village.
However, the fairytale setting also has its darker side, and players must be prepared to defend their village against threats. They can fortify their fortress, assemble an army, and choose a champion to protect their kingdom from wicked neighbors and minions. Alternatively, players can send their hero on a quest to conquer neighboring colonies, collect epic loot, and gear up for battle.
Fabledom also incorporates diplomacy and negotiation mechanics, enabling players to engage in feudal politics. They can choose to marry a Prince or Princess Charming for love or money, forming alliances for mutual interest or clashing with rival factions for domination. Romance plays a significant role in shaping the game’s interactions and courtships, with each alliance offering new ways to establish the player’s village as essential to the region.
With its engaging blend of city-building, diplomacy, and fairytale charm, Fabledom promises to provide an enjoyable and immersive experience for fans of the genre. Players can look forward to building their own storybook kingdom when Fabledom launches on Steam Early Access on April 13th.
