A new gameplay trailer, digital deluxe edition, and website update have been revealed for the upcoming tactical RPG, Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord. The website update provides insight into the game’s composers and voice actors. Scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe on April 25th, the game will also be available on Steam on May 23rd.
Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord follows the story of Fang, a Fencer who can wield a special weapon known as a Fury, imbued with a Fairy. Joined by his companions, Fang sets out on a journey to find the Furies and resurrect the Goddess. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious women, Glace and Fleur, who possess the power of song and call themselves Muses. These women can boost or change other people’s abilities with their singing.

- Tactical RPG battle system: Utilize terrain and objects such as rocks, boxes, and grass to gain an advantage in battles. Strategic positioning on the battlefield can impact evasiveness, movement speed, and other factors. Avalanche Attack and Fairize battle mechanics also return.
- Muses, Fairies, Fencers, and Furies: The addition of the two Muses introduces new battle mechanics. Harness the power of their songs to buff allies or combine area of effect boosts for a more dramatic impact. However, beware of enemies within the area who can also benefit.
- Location Shaping: This feature offers a fresh take on “World Shaping” by allowing players to use collected Furies to unlock items, hidden locations, or even Fairies in various locations on the world map. Activate a chain to stab more locations without using up limited Locate Energy.
- Multiple story routes: Experience an all-new story with multiple routes as Fang and his friends continue their search for Furies to resurrect the Goddess. The player’s choices will determine whether they find harmony or dissonance.
