FILMRISE BRINGS VIEWERS INTO THE THRILLING AND INTENSE WORLD OF PROFESSIONAL ESPORTS WITH “GAMECHANGERS: DREAMS OF BLIZZCON®”

FilmRise will release John Keating’s (“Race To World First”) “Gamechangers: Dreams of BlizzCon®,” a groundbreaking feature length documentary that explores the thrilling realm of professional esports. As seen through the eyes of two of the world’s best StarCraft® II players – Mun “MMA” Seong Won and Jang “MC” Min Chul – viewers experience the high-pressure, high-stakes lifestyle of professional esports. With striking visuals and a mesmerizing original score, the film goes behind the scenes and reveals these two competitors’ personal journeys that led them into the world of gaming and eventually to become champions on the global stage.

“Gamechangers: Dreams of BlizzCon®” will be available for sale and rental on Prime Video, iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu, beginning June 12, 2018.

In “Gamechangers: Dreams of BlizzCon®” viewers are taken on an exhilarating ride as they follow MMA and MC over the course of a year as they move from South Korea, to Germany, and finally to BlizzCon® , Blizzard Entertainment’s epic two-day gaming event in Anaheim, CA. Viewers go inside their lives with their friends and families and their unique cultural and social situations that led them to devote their lives to pro gaming. The story culminates at the 2014 WCS Global Finals, where top players went head-to-head in one last series of battles for the $100k prize and the title of World Champion.

Blizzard Entertainment’s sci-fi epic StarCraft® and its sequel, StarCraft® II, are widely regarded as some of the best real-time strategy games ever made. The StarCraft® series helped spark the global esports phenomenon that has rapidly grown in popularity, and the games continue to be among the most popular competitive titles around the world.

Many pro gamers are now major celebrities earning significant prize money, lucrative endorsement deals and garnering enormous social media followings. Gaming events held all around the world are broadcast and streamed to audiences rivaling those of traditional sports.PricewaterhouseCoopers projects the global video game industry to surpass 90 billion U.S. Dollars in revenue by 2020.

The film was produced by Wild West Productions with producers Peter Billingsley, Daniel Chalfen, Zachary Henderson and Vince VaughnExecutive Producers are Joel Cheatwood along with John Kingston and Laura Smith through Kingston Road Pictures.

“Gamechangers: Dreams of BlizzCon®” has a running time of 91 minutes and is not rated.
