First Gameplay Trailer Revealed for Multiplayer VR Sushi Eating Game

Eating sushi can be a very social activity, but did you know it can also be competitive? Soon, gamers will be able to eat sushi in the social multiplayer VR game Ganbatte, currently being developed by Mimicry. In Ganbatte, up to 4 players take up the role of cats and challenge each other at a conveyor belt sushi spaceship restaurant in order to eat as much as possible.

Mimicry has just revealed its first early alpha gameplay trailer and a set of high resolution screenshots for Ganbatte. With the game still in development, the trailer shows in-engine footage of its early alpha version, mixed with real-life video. The core mechanics of eating sushi and provoking each other over voice-chat and through facial expressions are some of the things that the video depicts.

Ganbatte was recently selected as one of the 10 finalists for the contest Prémios PlayStation 2017 (PlayStation Talents program). As part of this contest the public will have the opportunity to try out Ganbatte for the first time at Lisboa Games Week, a videogames tradeshow in Lisbon, Portugal.

“We’re very excited to share our progress, and we look forward to keep improving Ganbatte with the feedback we receive from our players,” says Thomas Papa, founder of Mimicry.

Ganbatte is coming up to an early access release on Steam, in Q4 2017, for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
