In a game filled with intense, close-up confrontations, For Honor’s Duel mode might be its ultimate test of skill. Here, you’ll square off against a single opponent (either online or in split-screen) and test your abilities against theirs with no distractions. How can you use your surroundings to your advantage? What’s the best way to overcome a tricky opponent? To find out, we chatted with For Honor’s creative director, Jason Vandenberghe, about why facing a single opponent with nothing but a few pieces of steel between you is such a powerful experience.
For Honor will arrive on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on February 14, and its multiplayer Closed Alpha – which isn’t covered by an NDA, giving participants free rein to share videos and impressions – rages from September 15 through September 18.
