G2 Esports Unveils Roster for Third All-Women Team

G2 Esports, the most entertaining esports organization in the world, has launched its third all-women roster, G2 Oya, whGlobal Offensive, and mainly compete in ESL Impact League.

Following the establishment of the G2 Gozen (VALORANT, 2021) and G2 Hel (League of Legends, 2022), G2 continues to invest in women’s esports, The creation of the new team is yet another step that G2 is taking to promote diversity and inclusion as the highest level of Esports competition. G2’s ultimate goal is to foster the most talented and gifted players, regardless of gender, to compete alongside each other in the best leagues.

The new project sees the reunion of Counter-Strike legends.

After recording double-digit championships, Juliano is returning to the game that forged her. After her success in VALORANT with G2 Gozen, she returns to Counter-Strike and joins forces with zAAz .

zAAZ has stepped out of retirement to return to G2 after her successes with G2 Gozen.

Juliano, esports legend and G2 Oya member: “The G2 Oya project is special to me because it’s a fresh start. I’m returning to my homeground, Counter-Strike, and joining forces with my duo zAAz. We have brought together some insane raw talents to complete our lineup and there is no doubt in my mind that you’ll see us all lift a trophy together.”

Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2 Esports said: “The G2 Oya project, alongside G2 Gozen and G2 Hel, is much more than just winning or losing. The creation of the team is to help inspire the next generation of players of CS:GO. We’re immensely proud of the work we have done at G2 to improve the presence of women players in esports competition and this is just the latest step in our journey to do that. While the goal is better representation, we know that trophies come to the party when Juliano and zAAz are on the server and we’re confident we’ll experience the same instant success with G2 Oya. I can’t wait to see them coming back to their realm to claim back their crown.”

The two champions will feature alongside a roster of young talent, helping shape them as future stars of the game.

Oya, an African Goddess, is the warrior-spirit of the wind, lightning, fire, and magic, who creates hurricanes and tornadoes and serves as the guardian of the underworld. Established on those strong principles, the team will look to follow the same goal as all G2 rosters and look to achieve top status in the game.

The announcement comes on the back of a blistering start to 2023 for G2. While the esports industry continues to see a slowdown in growth and staff reductions impacting companies in the scene, G2 Esports continues to grow by lifting trophies, expanding to new regions, and creating new projects like G2 Oya.

As well as multiple successes on the field, the organization has expanded in North America, competing in the VALORANT Challengers North America league, and South East Asia, with the formation of G2 Blacklist: G2’s first mobile team competing on Wild Rift. Meanwhile, in the entertainment space, G2 marked its latest expansion with the release of its alt-rock single ‘Detonate’. The track was developed in-house by G2 and will serve as the organization’s 2023 anthem.
