Game Sentinel, a platform for buyers and sellers in video game development and publishing

Game Sentinel is a new B2B portal aimed at connecting buyers and sellers of the video game industry. As a 24/7 business development platform, its mission is to give industry professionals and key decision makers the one thing everyone is short of, more time.

Founded by three industry veterans, Game Sentinel will launch with more than 4,000 companies registered and unique features that add incredible granularity to the business development process. Individual users define their decision making authority as buyers and sellers of full development projects and/or services, such that anyone can filter directly to only those buyers looking to outsource animation, for example. Likewise, buyers can filter platforms, genres, budget ranges and other criteria to find available game projects looking for publishing partners.

“Google and Linkedin are great for some kinds of research and networking, but neither is specific to our industry and you still have to filter through a lot of noise to find what you are looking for,” said Ed Dille, co-founder of Game Sentinel. “Once you have identified the target companies you think are worth exploring on those services, you often still have to figure out who the right people are to speak with at that company, many of whom don’t list their main contact info on the website or linked in profile because they don’t want to get spammed,” Dille continued. “Our portal provides secure communications gated to the buyer and seller profiles in the system, so that folks can search for whatever they want, but they won’t receive mails or dashboard alerts on goods or services which don’t match their interests.”

Additionally, Game Sentinel features a centralized reputation management system that further enhances the search results. Buyers and sellers with work history, including history prior to the launch of this platform, can rank one another on relevant aspects of the working relationship. The details of individual rankings are only visible to the parties involved, but all rankings for each company are aggregated at the platform level to elevate high scoring providers to the top of relevant searches.

“We have always done business development on the basis of reputation via word of mouth amongst ourselves, but it has never been standardized or centralized into a single system for the benefit of the community as a whole,” said Jay Powell, co-founder of Game Sentinel. “While there is an infinite amount of creators looking to sell their projects or services, there are only a limited number of decision makers that purchase those games or services. Our reputation system allows each of these groups to engage with the other from an informed perspective based on the historical performance of those buyers and sellers with past partners. You won’t see some companies and not others because of ad buys or other artificial systems that have nothing to do with actual reputation or customer satisfaction.”

“The vision for Game Sentinel actually pre-dates the Covid-19 crisis by quite a bit,” said Fedor van Herpen, co-founder of Game Sentinel. “I see it as a completely complementary and needed line of business to our existing Live Event management systems at MeetToMatch. Eventually, your Game Sentinel profile will be persistent and automatically updated in MeetToMatch. More importantly, the Game Sentinel tools simplify your show preparation and follow up processes a lot,” Van Herpen continued. “We give you the means to ensure that you are spending that limited, precious, expensive face time with potential partners that are already vetted, focused on agendas that actually matter to both of you.”

Game Sentinel will launch in June of 2020. Pre-register now to receive a free trial account for the first ninety days.
