Gen.E Announces Key Dates for High School and Middle School Fall Major Championships

Global esports organization Generation Esports is excited to announce today the respective championship match and streaming schedules for their high school and middle school 2020 Fall Major esports league tournaments, starting this weekend. 

Despite nationwide school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, 24,000 North American high school students and 2,200 middle school students signed up for fall season esports competitions from GenE’s High School Esports League (HSEL) and Middle School Esports League (MSEL), respectively.

The varsity-level HSEL Fall Major and the inaugural MSEL Fall Major began October 12, 2020, pitting school esports clubs against their peers in popular multiplayer online video games. HSEL Fall Majors esports titles include Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Fortnite, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Rainbow Six: Siege, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, Madden 21, Minecraft, NBA 2K21, and Valorant. MSEL Fall Major titles include Minecraft, Rocket League, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Just Dance 2020, and Mario Kart 8 DX.

HSEL Fall Major champions across all titles are set to win up to $1,000 USD in scholarship prizes, with top participants and winning teams throughout the tournament additionally entered into partner raffles to win prizes from ASUS and the Army National Guard, as well as gift certificates from Zaxby’s restaurant and Skullz. Players who completed Aim Lab Skills Challenges during the HSEL Fall Major could earn up to $500 USD in additional college scholarship prizing. Winning teams of each competitive title in the MSEL Fall Major finals will net their respective schools five Nintendo Switch consoles.

The HSEL Fall Major championship will feature live commentary by premier and up-and-coming esports casters. Fans can tune in live throughout the week on http://twitch.tv/GenerationEsports starting December 14, 2020, at 7:00pm EST.

  • December 18, 2020 – 8:30 PM ESTFortnite [Casters: BHP and Sept]

The HSEL and MSEL Fall Major championships both begin on December 13, 2020, and conclude on December 20, 2020.
