The indie developer behind hit co-op game Deep Rock Galactic will be expanding into publishing, with Danish developed titles to be announced in early March
Today, indie developer Ghost Ship Games has announced a major expansion with the launch of a new vertical: Ghost Ship Publishing. This expansion follows the tremendous growth of its debut title, cooperative shooter Deep Rock Galactic, and is the next stage of the company’s evolution following its acquisition by Embracer Group. With a slate of titles to be revealed later this year, Ghost Ship Publishing is committed to establishing itself as a launchpad for independent video games in the rapidly growing Danish games industry and beyond.
Søren Lundgaard, CEO of Ghost Ship Games, says of the Ghost Ship Publishing launch: Becoming a publisher is a way for us to give a bit back to the industry, and to help lift up both the Danish gaming scene and other small developers like ourselves across the globe. Our goal is to assist fellow developers with funding and marketing expertise, while also helping them establish a solid business. Founding a publishing brand is a passion project for us, and we are very excited to make this a reality.”
Ghost Ship’s debut game, Deep Rock Galactic, is an award-winning title played by a community of over 10 million users, through a careful approach to open development and a flexible design philosophy. This will also be the foundational approach for future titles published under the Ghost Ship Publishing banner. Having an established track record for a community-focused approach, the company will support developers looking to create games through open communication and with the player experience as the central priority.
