Jackie Tran treated viewers with his own live matches as they contributed to the Geico Semifinals for the Tekken Tournament. There were 16 players from the East who qualified as well as 16 additional players from the West … one of them being GL Live’s very own Jackie Tran! Those gamers who make it to the next round will compete in-person instead of via online. It’s all based on points and matches are typically best of two out of three. Jackie Tran faced Blood_Talon_94 and ultimately won in a five-round match. The next game was against xJustFrameJames and unfortunately, Jackie Tran lost in three rounds. Persia made a point to remind us all that there’s a whole different world out there full of incredibly strong gamers (once you actually make it to that level).

As for recent events, Call of Duty World League took place in Las Vegas over the weekend. The focus was, of course, for the latest release of “Black Ops 4” (although many gamers had recently switched from “World War II”). This segment showcased Jackie Tran and Persia interviewing some of the top contenders and heavy hitters at the event … The gaming community can certainly look forward to more upcoming tournaments specifically for “Call of Duty.”

Another tournament that took place was the Tekken World Tour in Amsterdam. Panda ended up in the number one spot (which came as a surprise for some). Exclusive trailers were also shown during the tournament, including a hype trailer with a fan-favorite character from AMC’s “The Walking Dead” — Negan (some simply recognize him as the guy with the baseball bat). Gamers can look forward to all new and exciting content in the “Tekken 7” season 2 pass.

To conclude the episode, Persia and Jackie Tran covered the upcoming Capcom Cup 2018 which will be at the eSports Arena in Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel & Casino on December 15th and 16th. The game of this tournament is “Street Fighter V” and the winner of last year’s tournament automatically qualifies for this year’s.  There’s a hefty amount of money on the line … a whopping $250,000! Some competitors have arrived in Las Vegas several days early in order to prepare for the upcoming intensity. The first round of match-ups have been released and there’s plenty of international representation all across the board. Seeing these top 32 players compete is going to be quite the thrill, especially with that much  money up for grabs!
