If you’re anywhere near Cologne, Germany, for this year’s gamescom event, you’ll want to visit the Gran Turismo Sport booth, which is themed on the famous Caracciola-Karussell corner of the Nürburgring race track. All visitors will be welcomed to show off their skills on 15 gaming stations placed along a replica of the signature banked corner. Also, on display there will be the Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M6 GT3, which was driven by none other than Gran Turismo founder Kaz Yamauchi in this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hour race.
As part of the Nürburgring theme, a new documentary called “Made from Reality” will be shown at gamescom. This 20-minute film features never-before-seen footage from this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hour race, chronicling the exploits of Yamauchi and his team for the entire event and then some, from the rock-sized hail that fell upon the racecars at the start of the race to the numerous accidents throughout the contest. Included are interviews with key personnel who made the race and this film happen.
gamescom is one of Europe’s largest gaming shows and begins on August 17, with public days held from August 18 to August 21.
