Today Pearl Abyss launched the Great Ocean of Magoria, a new region for Black Desert players to explore on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The region of Magoria, which lies north-west of the mainland, is a beautiful ocean filled with new treasures and life that doubles the size of the Black Desert world. However, the secrets hidden just beneath the water’s surface will have even the fiercest Adventurer shaking in their boots.
A new harbor connects to the Great Ocean of Magoria, and serves as a starting point for seafaring adventures worldwide. Players can explore the region by boat or by diving beneath the ocean’s surface to discover the world that lies beneath. The ocean floor is home to a host of new resources players can gather to make accessories, among other things. Those who choose to manually captain their ship across the tumultuous sea will gain sailing experience that will help them master any sea vessel.
However, take heed – it will not be all smooth sailing. The Great Ocean of Magoria is also home to a host of new monsters and threats, including sea monsters that, when slain, will reward Adventurers handsomely. Creatures of the ocean’s abyss are not the only hostiles Adventurers may encounter on the Magorian seas. Swashbucklers should not only worry about the many monstrosities that lurk in the Margorian seas, but also boat sinking Typhoons. Legends even speak about a haunted Phantom Ship that terrorizes these waters. Those unlucky enough to cross paths with the Magoria Phantom Ship will notice their vessel screech to a halt as storm clouds quickly begin turning the sky pitch black. What happens next? Only the bravest adventurers will stick around to find out!
