Guns of Boom – at Last, a Mobile First-Person Shooter That Booms!

Innovative controls let players jump straight into the action on iOS and Android

Multiplayer mayhem and first-person firepower fit in your pocket thanks to today’s launch of Guns of Boom, available now on the App Store, Google Play and Amazon App Store. Guns of Boom is a team-based PvP shooter built around a unique control scheme that focuses on assisted aim and auto-fire features, providing a solution to mobile’s most frustrating first-person shooter (FPS) woes. Guns of Boom has accrued more than two million downloads in soft-launch, and today expands to players worldwide.

“Mobile gamers have been trying to capture the fun and frantic nature of first-person shooters since the early days of the App Store, but despite their best efforts, developers haven’t been able to deliver the goods,” said Anatoly Ropotov, CEO of Game Insight. “The problem has always been with finding controls that make sense for mobile-first play. With Guns of Boom, we’ve found a solution that lets players spend their time mastering the game, and not trying to master the controls.”

At launch, Guns of Boom features 4v4 Team Deathmatch gameplay across 10 maps with nearly 50 weapons – from machine guns and sniper rifles to armaments that will freeze your enemy in their tracks or steal their health for your benefit – and that’s just what’s available on day one. Game Insight has committed to a long term vision for Guns of Boom, with plans to introduce a huge variety of modes in the coming months including Domination, King of the Hill, Escort, and new, never-before-seen modes in the FPS genre. Guns of Boom will also be fully cross-platform, allowing players on both Android and iOS devices to do battle together in live real-time matches without dropping a frame.

“There was a time, years and years ago, when the thought of first-person shooters on home consoles was laughable. But then somebody found the magic bullet, and we haven’t been able to imagine the living room without first-person shooters since,” added Ropotov. “Mobile has gone through the same growing pains with FPS. With Guns of Boom, we’ve found that magic bullet.”
