Half-Monster Games Reveals Animal World War

Half-Monster Games unveiled a preview of its upcoming crowdfunding campaign for Animal World War, a squad-level combat game for 2-8 players set in a future where Animalkind have overthrown humanity and survived to their own industrial age of trench warfare. The Kickstarter will launch on July 24th and continue through mid-August.

“Animal World War is set in the same universe as our popular card game Animal Empire and the Animal Empire Tabletop RPG, but hundreds of years later,” said Jack Ford Morgan, co-founder and lead game designer of Half-Monster Games. “We have built such a rich world with deep lore and wanted to create something epic, fun, and great for the whole family. It’s definitely our most ambitious game yet.”

Animal World War

In Animal World War, the competing Empires of the Herbivores and the Carnivores battle it out to accomplish multiple goals and missions on a modular tile board consisting of various tile sets with destructible terrain, allowing for diverse strategies and maximum replayability. Players can challenge each other in individual skirmishes or take on the replayable campaign mode. Most games for 4-6 players will last an hour, with 6 Soldiers for both Empires and the standard 37 Battlefield array. However, players can easily decrease or increase playing time by adjusting troop numbers, battlefield size, and number of Objectives for the win conditions.

The Animal World War core set includes 16 Scenarios, a set of 54 Battlefield Tiles that can be randomized or be used to build custom battlefields, and an entire Legacy Campaign structure that leads players around the world on 16 Missions (and battlefields you can Save, with sheets or by picture, to enable you to fight on the same destroyed battlefields as many times as you like, while they gradually are ground down to pure craters, shrapnel, and mud!) The game box comes packed with a plethora of animal Soldiers, tanks, planes, explosives, Battlefield Tiles, dice, tokens, cards, Rule Booklets, Legacy Campaign booklets, an A2 campaign map, campaign stickers, and more.

Curious backers can try out the gameplay virtually for themselves at Tabletop Simulator or Tabletopia.
