High School Esports League Announces Winners of Fall Majors Student Tournament Series

Ahead of the holidays, HSEL Fall Majors participants from across North America competed against fellow high school students in eleven popular video games, with the thirty ultimate champions across all titles winning a $1,000 USD scholarship prize! Top participants also received a free three-month XBOX Game Pass Ultimate subscription (valued at $44.99 USD) courtesy of Microsoft.

HSEL Fall Majors esports titles included Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Rainbow Six: Siege, Rocket League, Smite, Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, Madden 20, and NBA 2K20. 

The list of top competing high school esports teams in the HSEL Fall Majors is as follows:

  • Cedar Falls Community School District – CF Ambush: Overwatch

  • Holy Name High School – Holy Name ESports: Rainbow Six: Siege (PlayStation 4 Version)
  • Morristown Junior/Senior High School – Yellow Jackets eSports Team: Smite
  • Old Rochester High School – Bulldogs: Madden 20 (PlayStation 4 Version)
  • Ridgewood High School – Maroons: MinecraftRainbow Six: Siege (XBox One Version), Rocket League
  • Syosset High School – Syosset BraveSports: Hearthstone
  • Valley Christian High School – VCHS Esports: Madden 20 (XBox One Version)
  • Wayzata High School – Wayzata eSports: Rainbow Six: Siege

Starting on January 20, 2020, the HSEL’s next seasonal gaming tournament begins! The HSEL Winter Open is a six-week-long competition available to all North American high school students, allowing free-agent teams to compete from home, school, or HSEL approved GameWorks location.

Champions across all games will win $500 USD in scholarship funds, with an additional free three-month XBOX Game Pass Ultimate subscription awarded to all those who play in 4/6 of their matches. Registration to the HSEL Winter Open is just $30 USD per student and closes on January 16, 2020. Students, teachers/advisors, and existing esports clubs can register to compete in the HSEL Winter Open at https://www.highschoolesportsleague.com/winter-open-2020.
