JRPG/PlayStation News; Heroic JRPG Edge of Eternity Available Now at Retail for PlayStation in North America from GS2 Games
Retail publisher GS2 Games announced Edge of Eternity, the grand JRPG from small-but-mighty Midgar Studio, is available for PlayStation 4 at retail across North America and exclusively at GameStop for PlayStation 5. Both versions include dual audio with a Japanese voice track led by acclaimed actors Kosuke Toriumi (Guido Mista, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5); Hikata Yōko (Makima Kal’tsit, Chainsaw Man); and Toujo Hisako (Kakushi, Demon Slayer).
The boxed version also comes with the latest updates to Edge of Eternity, including new enemies, more cutscenes with party members, a rebalanced combat system, spells, quests, and more.
Edge of Eternity chronicles the tragic tale of Heryon, a peaceful world ripped asunder by war and plagued by a mysterious Corrosion that transforms people into abominable monsters. Players follow Daryon and Selene, two stalwart soldiers on a quest across the shattered planet to find a cure for this Corrosion and restore peace.
Midgar Games draws inspiration from classic JRPGs, with a challenging turn-based combat system and a sweeping soundtrack from Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda. Like Heryon itself, Edge of Eternity blends modern design with past glory. Daryon and Selene shape the course of the game’s riveting plot at key moments based on the decisions they make, and party members are more than just battle companions. Edge of Eternity encourages players to grow closer with their ragtag band of warriors through sharing special moments and learning their hopes, fears, and dreams.
