Last of Us Part 2 Leaks did not originate from Sony or Naughty Dog

Last of Us Part 2 leak rumors have been off the wall in the last few weeks. It was originally reported that a Naughty Dog employee leaked major assets and plot information. However, it has been confirmed by Sony that this was not the case.

Sony released this statement to GameIndustry.biz following the leaks.

“We identified the primary individuals responsible for the unauthorized release of TLOU2 assets. They are not affiliated with Naughty Dog or SIE. We are unable to comment further because the information is subject to an ongoing investigation. We’re looking forward to when The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands and can’t wait for you to enjoy the full experience on June 19.”

Soon after the leaks began circulating online, rumors began to surface that the assets were shared by a disgruntled employee at Naughty Dog’s studio. These leaks forced Sony to move the final release date which had been postponed “indefinitely” in early April now set to launch June 19th.
Naughty Dog issued a statement following the leaks.

Game director Neil Druckmann also took to Twitter after the leaks saying “Heartbroken for the team. Heartbroken for our fans. We’re still incredibly excited to get the game into your hands.”

Whether you have seen the leaks or not it is still going to be a dope game. Just think of how many times you played through the first one.
