League of Legends Dev Update: Ranked System, Clash Tournaments, and Exciting Skins Unveiled

In the latest development update from the League of Legends team, players can expect exciting changes to the Ranked system, Clash tournaments, champion ASUs (Audio and Visual Updates), and upcoming skins. Riot Brightmoon, Meddler, and 100 pc nuggets take us through the key updates in their informative video.

Ranked System Updates

One of the notable changes is the addition of a new Ranked tier called Emerald, which will be placed between the Platinum and Diamond tiers. This new tier aims to provide a more gradual progression for players and bridge the gap between these two skill levels.

While Diamond and above will maintain the same skill requirements, players below the Diamond tier will experience a slight shift in their rankings to better reflect their skill levels. These adjustments are expected to create a more balanced and competitive matchmaking experience.

In an effort to streamline the Ranked experience, Riot Games has decided to remove promotional series from the League entirely. This means that players will no longer need to go through promotion matches to advance to the next division or tier. This change aims to reduce frustration and create a smoother progression system for players.

Clash Tournaments

The Clash reward system is also getting an update. Instead of being based on the final standing in the tournament, rewards will now be determined by the total number of games won or lost. This change aims to reward consistent performance throughout the tournament and encourage teams to give their best effort in every match.

Additionally, Clash tournaments will now be held monthly, providing more opportunities for players to participate in this exciting team-based competition. The change from a biweekly schedule to a monthly schedule is expected to increase player engagement and allow teams to better prepare for each Clash.

To improve the overall stability of the Clash experience, Riot Games is dedicating efforts to monitor and support Clash servers and code more effectively. This investment in infrastructure aims to provide a smoother and more enjoyable tournament experience for all participants.

Furthermore, the League of Legends team has announced their plans to introduce non-Summoner’s Rift Clashes this year. These alternative game modes will offer a fresh and exciting twist to the Clash experience. The first of these non-Summoner’s Rift Clashes will be an ARAM Clash, scheduled to take place in August. Players can look forward to exploring new strategies and showcasing their skills in these unique Clash events.

Champion ASUs (Audio and Visual Updates)

Fans of Lee Sin and Teemo will be pleased to know that progress is being made on their champion ASUs. For Lee Sin, the team aims to make his power source more apparent, increase gameplay clarity, modernize animations, and address the popular “neck memes” associated with the champion. These improvements will contribute to a more polished and visually appealing gameplay experience for Lee Sin enthusiasts. The champion is set to be released in the first half of 2024.

Teemo, the notorious Swift Scout, is also receiving attention in his ASU. Updates include new spell animations, voiceovers, lore enhancements, recalls, and an expressive face that brings the character to life in a new way. With these changes, players can expect a refreshed and more engaging experience when playing as Teemo. The updated version of Teemo is expected to make its debut in the second half of 2024.

Upcoming Skins

League of Legends players can anticipate a variety of new skins coming their way. Patch 13.13 will introduce Star Guardian Seraphine and Orianna, followed by the release of Star Guardian Senna in Patch 13.14. These skins will offer players the opportunity to add a touch of celestial beauty to their favorite champions.

Towards the end of this year, players can look forward to the release of Redeemed Xayah and Rakan skins. These skins will provide a visually stunning representation of the redeemed duo and add a fresh twist to their appearance.

In addition, Taliyah and Ashe will receive the next Crystalis Motus skins later this year. These skins will offer a unique thematic concept and bring a new level of elegance and style to these champions.

Furthermore, Samira, the Desert Rose, will receive an Ultimate skin as part of this year’s summer event. Ultimate skins are known for their exceptional quality and immersive features, making them highly coveted by players. Samira’s Ultimate skin will undoubtedly provide an extraordinary visual experience and add a new layer of excitement to her gameplay.

For players who enjoy the exclusive Prestige skins, the Prestige Skin List is making a comeback. This means that there will be more opportunities to obtain these prestigious cosmetics and showcase them on the Rift. Lastly, it’s important to note that the first Ranked split will come to a close on July 17th, server time. However, players need not worry as Ranked will reopen on July 19th, allowing them to continue their climb up the competitive ladder.

With these updates, League of Legends players can look forward to an enhanced Ranked experience, more engaging Clash tournaments, visually revamped champions, and a wide array of captivating skins to personalize their favorite champions. The League of Legends team continues to listen to player feedback and make thoughtful improvements to ensure a dynamic and enjoyable gameplay experience for all Summoners.
