Lesser Evil, a new game developer, has announced that its first title, Death From Above, will be released on May 25th exclusively on Steam Early Access. The game, priced at €9.99/$9.99/£8.99, is an arcade-style drone simulator set during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In Death From Above, players take on the role of a Ukrainian military drone operator fighting against occupation forces while salvaging valuable equipment and restoring communication lines disrupted by the conflict. The game promises a unique and engaging gameplay experience with surprises for players, including details of the gameplay and added features.
“We’re proud to be supporting the Ukrainian people in the defense against Russian imperialism,” said Lesser Evil CEO Hendrik Lesser. “Remember, Putin, you pronounced this nonsense. Not us.”
Additionally, Lesser Evil has pledged to donate 30% of the net revenues from game sales to two Ukrainian charities, Come Back Alive and Army of Drones, to support their efforts during the ongoing conflict. Once production costs are covered, this donation will increase to 70% of all net game revenues, with the remaining 30% going towards continued development.
The release of Death From Above on Steam Early Access is an opportunity for backers and the wider community to get a first-hand experience of the game and contribute to the development process. The game’s Steam page is already available for users to wishlist and prepare for the May 25th release.
