Pre-Registration is now open for Dungeon Survivor II: Dark Tide

Leiting Games has today announced a sequel to their classic dungeon RPG experience Dungeon Survivor. Dungeon Survivor II: Dark Tide will feature an immersive story-driven RPG experience to eclipse that of its predecessor. At the same time, the indie developers also announced that pre-registration for the game is now open.

“We are incredibly excited to announce a sequel,” Said Leiting Games. “With Dungeon Survivor II, we have tried to enhance almost every aspect of the original and add in new mechanics and features. The biggest improvement players will notice straight away is the new graphical art style. We were heavily inspired by a Lovecraftian theme and wanted a Cthlulu-esque experience and atmosphere in our art direction.

We wanted to create something that players would just fall in love with, so we focused heavily on an immersive storytelling experience mixed with the ideas of not just exploring this world and its dungeons, but also trying to survive this dark, foreboding fantasy world.”

Dungeon Survivor II: Dark Tide is a homage to the classic story-driven graphical M.U.D’s of old with its combination of artwork and text-based gameplay. Dive into a rich dark world filled with great perils and bountiful rewards as you take your party through the trials and tribulations of exploration, dungeoneering, and facing down what hides in the shadows.

The story starts with the player arriving in the ruins of a town called Sanctuary, where they will need to build up the town for a craftsmen named Balon. Eventually, the player becomes the lord of Sanctuary and uses it as a base of operations that provides resources, items, new party members, and a place to recoup between expeditions into the unknown.

Players will face difficult choices with very real consequences as they venture on. Through text-based events, players will face tough moral decisions and have to think carefully before deciding a course of action. Coming across an abandoned farm may lead to a party member falling into a trap while another is surrounded by ghouls. Your decisions may heavily impact your adventure, and deadly situations are around every turn.

Unlike its predecessor, Leiting Games also announced that the sequel will be free to play. “We wanted to make this deep story-driven dungeon survival RPG available to as many people as possible, and so we felt that making the game free would accomplish that goal.” Leiting Added.
